instruments at that time. In his senior year he performed as a Herald Trumpet in the Rose Parade. He attended BYU and joined their marching and pep band and continued to pursue Trumpet during his first year. While he performed in many classical horn based scenarios, he always had a love for pop, rock, and guitar based music. He had always played guitar as a hobby, and was constantly playing in garage bands and going to rock shows in the LA area while he was in High School. After taking some time off of school for volunteer service, he returned to school with a new desire to pursue guitar. After exploring his options, he applied for the Commercial Music Program at BYU while studying Jazz Guitar. Throughout his college career he worked at a guitar shop, taught guitar privately, and began playing, recording, and writing songs for both himself, and other bands/artists in the Utah County area. He recorded and released his own album in 2019, and both played and helped produce music for Solly. After graduation, he continued to teach and develop his own studio and was hired at BYU as a member of their Guitar Faculty. At the beginning of 2022 he joined the Indie band Michael Barrow and The Tourists and later that year toured the East Coast with them. In 2022 he also performed with the Utah Symphony and Kristin Chenoweth. His true passion lies in all things music and guitar. He has inundated himself in the guitar, studio, and live music culture, and believes in the power that music has to heal and connect. He loves teaching and talking to anyone about these subjects, and seeks out opportunities to help other players develop their musicianship. It’s more than just his job, it’s a way of life for him. He gives everything to his projects and clients, and chases improvement every chance he gets. Working with him means you can trust that you’ll have someone fighting for the best possible outcome. I had always wanted to play an instrument but never had the opportunity. As a 35 year old mom, I was terrified of being absolutely terrible. Mac has been the greatest teacher for me. He is so patient. He has never made me feel bad for needing concepts explained multiple times or in different ways. He meets you where you are at with absolutely no judgement. (He also understands when kids and life get in the way and you didn’t have time to practice. No lectures) Mac is the best.

In our experience, Mac Wright will get his job done so well, whatever it may be, that you’ll hate ever having to work without him.

Mac Wright is one of the best producers in Utah, especially with Folk Music and Americana. His detail-oriented musical sensitivity comes directly from his training as a jazz guitarist and classical trumpeter. He’s also the best bang for your buck: he can record, mix, master, produce, orchestrate, and perform in your selected genre. Don’t go to anyone else.
